Back in the swing of things...

Well, hola friends.  I know it has been quite some time since my last post.  I've been using that time to really focus on the important things in life -family, school, most importantly my Heavenly Father.  I realized over time that my selfishness was eating me alive.  I was consumed with focusing on myself & other ridiculous things.
Over the past couple of months God has been doing amazing things in my life.  He has brought so many awesome opportunities before me it's crazy!   Starting with my trip to New York.
This summer, me, my friend Katie, and our youth leader Mrs Billie were able to go to Brooklyn, New York for a week long mission trip.  While we were there, we were fervently blessed.  That week we held a VBS at the New Beginnings Church in Brooklyn. Along with that we did various ministry projects like handing out water bottles, hosting kids activities in the local parks, and handing out flyers for New Beginnings Church.
The people of that church were nothing short of amazing.  the moment we arrived they ran to us to greet us with warm hugs & radiant smiles.  They were such beautiful people with the same burning passion to serve God as we had.
The trip was a wonderful opportunity for each of us.  Later on I'll post the video I made of that week :) such fun.

Another thing happening now is COLLEGE! During my scary/exciting senior year of high school I'm doing dual enrollment at Coastal Carolina Community College.  So far, it's been pretty good! I'm currently taking Psychology & Art History.  I'm VERY privileged to have my two best friends taking it along with me- WOOT WOOT! :)  This fall semester is going to be tough & at points very stressful but I'm praying for some guidance and peace!

One really really big thing has just happened.  On the last day of my mission trip to Brooklyn, I had this feeling that there was something more for me to do.  There was something else big (mission wise) for me to do.  Not even a couple of days later, my best friend Katie was telling me about this mission program.  It's called the Next Generation Missional Journey.  It is a 3 year program that trains high school students & some college students to do amazing mission work.  During those 3 years there are 3 summer mission trips involved. The first is in the state, the second somewhere in North America, and the third in a foreign country! Throughout the 3 years students are given reading assignments, meeting at different conferences, and working hard to gain the knowledge required to take the next big step toward missions.
If you know me, you know that I love missions.  I have always had a heart for it.  My Biggest dream is to take my art and travel to foreign countries.  I want to show the lost souls the beauty of God through it.  There is art in the eARTh.  God is the greatest artist ever known.  Look all around you!!
Anyhow, back on track...

I immediately new this was it! THIS was what God was telling me!  So after filling out our applications and anxiously waiting for an answer, we received an answer.

WE GOT ACCEPTED!!

We are really excited to see where God is taking us!

So to sum it up, I've been pretty busy.  I've been taking on other minor projects too, like working in the sound booth on Sundays at church, learning ukulele with my friend, helping with art lessons, etc.  Busy busy busyyyy!

I can't thank God enough for what He has done.  This year is so far a big one for me. It's consisting of encountering new things while finishing old things.

Have a great rest of the week!
